After growing up on a farm in southern Illinois, Shelly Ann Kamei attended Aurora University, graduating at the top of her class. She then obtained her master’s degree in Political Science from Pennsylvania State University. Shelly Ann Kamei has lived in several states and two foreign countries. She and her husband relocated to Kentucky in 2013.
Shelly Ann Kamei is a member of the Elder Law Section of the Kentucky Bar Association, the National Association of Elder Law Attorneys, and the Kentucky Guardianship Association. She has been an officer for all three organizations, serving as Chair of the KBA Elder Law Section. She is also a member of Elder Counsel.
Shelly Ann Kamei has presented and co-presented topics for the Kentucky Bar Association Annual Convention, the Kentucky Law Update, the University of Kentucky Elder Law Continuing Legal Education Conference, the University of Kentucky Family Law Continuing Legal Education Conference, and to several other legal and professional conferences in Kentucky.
Shelly Ann Kamei is involved in several local and regional charitable and social organizations. She has served on several local and regional boards. She and her husband are patrons and supporters of The Filson Historical Society, The Louisville Ballet, and The Speed Art Museum.
Shelly Ann Kamei is a cum laude graduate of the University of San Diego School of Law. She is currently pursuing an LLM in Taxation at Boston University.
